Did you know...Jean Sweeney was a teacher, activist, and philanthropist best known for initiating the buyback of the Alameda Beltline Property and changing the zoning to open space. In 2016, the Alameda City Council approved plans to turn a 27 acre parcel into The Jean Sweeney Open Space and Community Garden.
