Did you know...Alameda is located on Ohlone land and the local tribes would have spoken Chochenyo. Ohlone are the Native Americans who inhabited the Northern California coast and made up approximately 50 tribes. The present-day Muwekma Ohlone Tribe is still fighting for federal recognition.
